From the first bite, you will never know this roasted cauliflower parmesan recipe is a vegetarian dish. By using cauliflower instead of chicken, our cauliflower parmesan recipe is a healthy twist on an Italian classic.

It’s also an amazingly simple recipe making it an easy family dinner idea. The cauliflower steak will caramelize as it roasts and then is topped with tomato sauce and cheese. Roasted cauliflower parmesan is a cheesy dinner made perfect with any Jar Goods jarred tomato sauce.

Ingredients need to make roasted cauliflower parmesan

  • 1 large head cauliflower
  • ⅛ C olive oil
  • 1 jar Classic Red tomato sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Grated parmesan cheese

Now that we know what we need, here's how to prepare our roasted cauliflower parmesan.

Preheat your oven to 425°F. While the oven heats up, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. The parchment paper will prevent the cauliflower from sticking to the backing sheet while it's roasting in the oven.

Carefully slice the head of cauliflower into ½” steaks. Do this step carefully so that you keep the slices as intact as possible. Raw cauliflower is will sometimes crumble a bit so just take your time.

Drizzle each cauliflower slice with olive oil and then dredge them in breadcrumbs. I love the taste of Italian seasoned breadcrumbs and tend to go a bit heavy on them.

Carefully flip the breaded cauliflower and repeat to thoroughly coat each slice with breadcrumbs.

Roast the cauliflower for approximately 20 minutes. You'll want to roast them until the cauliflower is lightly browned. Gently flip each slice and roast for another 10-12 minutes. At this point, the the cauliflower should be roasted and tender.

Remove the roasted cauliflower from the oven. Season each cauliflower steak with salt and pepper. Top with Jar Goods Classic Red tomato sauce and a generous handful of shredded parmesan cheese.

Set your oven to broil.

Return the roasted cauliflower to the oven and broil until the parmesan cheese is melted and bubbling. This should take about 6-8 minutes. Be sure to keep your eye on them so they don’t burn.

Remove the roasted cauliflower from the oven. Grab you favorite plates and transfer your roasted cauliflower from the pan to the plate. Sprinkle with more grated parmesan cheese and serve.

We hope you enjoy this roasted cauliflower recipe as much as we do here at Jar Goods. Make this another addition to your meatless Monday routine. This is a fool proof vegetarian recipe.
