Lazy lasagna made with Jar Goods Classic Red pasta sauce

Oh, how we love this easy lasagna recipe! To save you time, use cheese filled ravioli instead of lasagna noodles and a ricotta mixture.

A simple swap and you've got one of the world’s best pasta dishes in way less time and hassle. You don’t even have to boil the ravioli! There are also infinite variations you can try such as:

  • substituting ground beef for plant-based meat crumbles
  • incorporating sausage links and fennel seeds
  • adding in roasted vegetables, like broccoli and cauliflower
  • using different types of store bought cheeses
  • spicing things up with red pepper flakes or Classic Spicy tomato sauce
  • trying different flavors of Jar Goods pasta sauce

The possibilities are endless.

This lasagna recipe is what we like to serve when we have meat-eating company over for dinner. It's quick. It's easy.

Ingredients

  • Mild Italian sausage links
  • 1 white onion, finely chopped
  • 2-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 jar Jar Goods Classic Spicy pasta sauce (you can also use any of our other tomato sauces!)
  • 18 ounce package of large, frozen, cheese-filled ravioli
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

How to prepare a lazy lasagna

Remove sausage from its casings. Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium high heat. Break it up with the edge of a spatula or other utensil.

Once the sausage is nicely browned set it aside. Add the onion and garlic to the pan and season with salt, pepper and oregano. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until soft and translucent.

Add in your jar of Classic Spicy, Classic Red, Classic Vodka sauce, or even Vegan Vodka sauce! Add sausage back in, stir to combine, and let simmer for 15 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Spray 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray.

Spread one cup of the Jar Goods tomato and sausage sauce in the bottom of the baking dish. Top with ⅓ of the frozen ravioli, another cup of the remaining meat sauce, ⅓ of the mozzarella cheese and a ⅓ of the Parmesan cheese.

'Repeat in layers until all the ingredients are gone. If you have any tomato sauce leftover be sure to spread it over top of the final layer. It will gain a sweetness as it caramelizes in the oven - yum!

Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove aluminum foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes.

Serves 6 - 8.
