Crispy Gnocchi with Mozzarella

A great meal doesn’t have to take hours to prepare. Combine a few simple ingredients with Jar Goods Classic Red tomato sauce and you have a delicious dinner in minutes.
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 18 oz package of potato gnocchi, fresh or shelf-stable
  • 2 cloves of garlic, sliced thin
  • ¼ ts red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 jar Classic Red
  • ¼ cup torn basil or spinach leaves (optional)
  • 6-ounce ball of fresh mozzarella

Set your broiler to high with the rack 6 inches from the heat source. Lightly coat a large cast-iron skillet with olive oil. Add the gnocchi, breaking up any clumps to form a single layer. Place a lid on top and cook undisturbed until the gnocchi are golden brown, about 4 minutes. Transfer to a medium bowl.

Return the skillet to medium heat. Stir in the garlic, red pepper flakes and a pinch of salt & pepper. Add ¾ jar of Classic Red and cook just a minute or two until the flavors incorporate.

Returned the seared gnocchi to the skillet along with basil or spinach. Stir to coat the gnocchi with the sauce. Top with torn pieces of fresh mozzarella and the remaining jar of Classic Red. Broil until the cheese is melted and browning in spots, 2 to 4 minutes. Top with additional greens, pepper flakes or grated parmesan cheese should you like.

Wow! This one is delicious!
