Fresh Herb Falafel Fritters with Vegan Vodka


Talk about Vegan comfort food! This recipe really satisfies the soul for anyone on a plant-based diet or for any Meatless Monday.

Serves 4-6

Jar Goods Vegan-Vodka Style Tomato Sauce
½ onion, chopped
1 jalapeno, chopped, keep a few seeds if you like it spicy
3 tablespoons chickpea flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cardamom
½ teaspoon cumin
½ cup sunflower oil
Bunch of chopped fresh curly parsley
Bunch of chopped fresh cilantro


Process chickpeas in a food processor until they resemble finely chopped nuts Transfer to a large bowl.

Process onion, jalapeño, garlic, cilantro, and parsley in a food processor until coarsely chopped.

Add to the bowl with the chickpeas along with chickpea flour, salt, baking powder, cardamom, and cumin. Form into patties about 2-3 inches wide.

Heat oil in a wide heavy pot. Fry falafel patties in batches for about 5 minutes on each side. Let drain on paper towels.

Serve with Vegan Vodka as a dipping sauce or in a pita with a quick pickled red cabbage.
